After an early breakfast, depart from your hotel and drive toward the Lemosho starting point. Complete the necessary registration procedures before beginning your trek. The trail leads through the lush rainforest as you gradually gain elevation toward Mti Mkubwa Camp. Enjoy the peaceful forest environment before arriving at camp for dinner, overnight and preparation for the following day's hike.
After breakfast, continue your ascent from Mti Mkubwa toward Shira I Camp. Leave the rainforest behind as the landscape gradually changes into open heath and moorland. Trek through scenic highland terrain while enjoying impressive views of Kilimanjaro. Arrive at Shira I Camp, settle in and rest before continuing your adventure the following day.
Continue your trek across the spectacular Shira Plateau from Shira I toward Shira II Camp. Enjoy the wide-open highland scenery and views of Kilimanjaro's volcanic landscape. Trek at a comfortable pace to support acclimatization and allow your body to adjust to the increasing altitude. Arrive at Shira II Camp for dinner, overnight and preparation for the next stage.
Today is an important acclimatization day. Leave Shira II and climb toward Lava Tower at approximately 4,600 meters, allowing your body to experience a higher altitude before descending toward Barranco Camp. This "climb high, sleep low" approach provides valuable acclimatization. Continue through the dramatic volcanic landscape and descend into the beautiful Barranco Valley for overnight.
The ascent to Lava Tower followed by the descent to Barranco provides an important opportunity to adapt to the increasing altitude.
After breakfast, prepare for one of the most exciting sections of the trek, the famous Barranco Wall. Climb carefully with the support of your mountain crew before continuing through the high-altitude landscape toward Karanga Camp. The trail offers spectacular views of the mountain and surrounding valleys. Arrive at Karanga Camp, enjoy dinner and rest before the final approach to Barafu.
After breakfast, begin the final approach to Barafu Base Camp. Trek across increasingly barren high-altitude terrain toward the mountain's southern summit zone. Arrive at Barafu Base Camp and settle in for the most important rest period of the trek. Enjoy your meal, prepare your summit equipment and rest as much as possible before beginning the nighttime ascent to Uhuru Peak.
Barafu is the final base camp before the summit. Prepare your warm clothing, headlamp, trekking poles, water and other essential equipment before resting for the nighttime summit attempt.
Begin your summit attempt during the night from Barafu Base Camp. Trek slowly through the darkness toward the crater rim, passing through challenging rocky terrain and steep sections. Continue toward Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point in Africa. Reach the summit and celebrate your achievement while enjoying spectacular sunrise views. After spending time at the summit, begin your descent toward Barafu before continuing down to Mweka Camp for overnight.
After completing the summit, continue your descent from the high-altitude zone toward Mweka Camp. The trail gradually changes from alpine terrain to moorland and eventually into the forest zone. Enjoy the dramatic change in vegetation as you lose altitude. Arrive at Mweka Camp, where you will have dinner, rest and spend your final night on the mountain.
After breakfast, begin your final descent through the lush forest toward Mweka Gate. Complete the necessary park exit procedures and celebrate the successful completion of your Kilimanjaro trek. Meet your transfer vehicle and return to your hotel for a well-deserved shower, relaxation and preparation for your next adventure.
Enjoy a relaxed morning at your hotel after completing your Kilimanjaro adventure. Depending on your travel plans, continue to a Tanzania safari, explore Arusha or Moshi, or transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
